Is the speaker list not showing all registered speakers? I’m thinking that with 100 speakers last year, there should be many more speakers/talks listed on the speaker page than have been viewable there for the past few days.

What’s the deal about voting for the top 20 speakers by today, Wed Feb 10? I saw info about that someplace, but didn’t see more info about how to do that? Is that happening? How?
Sorry for the delay in getting some of the speakers up. They’re just going to a google spreadsheet, and then have to be manually added to the website. I’m going in once a day to add them to the website.
I’m adding yours now, but I had been waiting on the photo you said you’d email.
By the way, we’re planning less speakers this year as our main room will only have 20 talks. We’re trying to focus less on “speakers” and more on “discussions.” which is why you don’t see as many speakers as last year.
Will there be some organization or schedule for these “discussions”?
Sitting in a room all day for a series of talks sounds a bit much, but leaving to skip a chat you don’t want to hear just go outside where there *may* be a discussion doesn’t seem very time efficient.
I personally think it would be better to at least have a choice of two talks at any given time, even if one was in a more casual setting.
Yes, there will be a schedule for all three areas:
- Fire Hose: This is the main room with 20-minute talks
- Open Culture: This is the sculpture garden and will have less-strict time formats
- JIL: This will be curated by jilconference.com but is open to all
There will also be breakout areas for unscheduled discussions.
