Message to attendees of BIL 2010

Hello BILians
BIL is one week away, and there’s a lot going on.  First off, we’d like to thank our sponsors who make this possible: Microsoft, Google SideWiki, and TechZulu.

Then take a look at the latest Speaker List .  If you’d like to speak you can just show up, but it helps if you sign up for a speaker slot. If you’ve got friends who would like to go, make sure to have them Register.
<> We’ve added a few new components to the program:
BILxOutside

BIL has been growing, and we’re transitioning away from keeping everyone in one room the whole time to encouraging people to strike out in small groups for adventures and exploration in the nearby community. Topic-specific groups will be forming based on the ideas shared at BIL, so people can get more interactive than just sitting in a chair.  Saturday afternoon and Sunday are being reserved for these adventures, and we’ll be organizing them on the wiki.

• Scottish Festival (Saturday and Sunday)

THE GOOGLE SIDEWIKI BIL 2010 CHALLENGE
The Google Sidewiki team is giving away 25 “chrome” Flip MinoHD cameras to BIL Conference participants who create Sidewiki entries on the BIL 2010 site prior to Feb 12th!  Use these cameras to document your BIL experience, particularly BILxOutside, and we’ll post the videos on the web.

Give it a shot:
Head over to the speaker pages and share your thoughts and ideas about the speaker and their topic as a Sidewiki entry.

• Add #BIL10 to each entry
• Vote on usefulness of entries to give peer-reviewed feedback to the speaker and other attendees
• Add as many entries as you like between Feb 2nd and Feb 12th

How to get started: Install the latest Google Toolbar, Sidewiki bookmarklet, or Chrome extension, and make sure you are signed into your Google account.
THE JIL CONFERENCE
BIL has spun out another conference! JIL is being formed as a satellite to BIL this year, representing the feminine kindred-spirit voice.  JIL’s mission is to create an international network of women from all walks of life and provide a life-changing experience to empower, inspire and educate the many women who will attend. By partnering with BIL, JIL will follow the theme of making the world a better place by helping women discover new ideas, energize and take action.

JIL has a few speaker slots open and we’re looking for women who are knowledgeable on topics such as movement and dancing, music, enlightenment, yoga, healing, meditation, manifestation, happiness, healthy eating, relationships, massage, green living, etc.

There’s more going on, and another announcement e mail is going out this weekend with specifics on the speaker scheduling, helpful travel information, extracurricular activites, and more.
