BILxOutside

by Bill Erickson on February 3, 2010

BIL has been growing, and we’re transitioning away from keeping everyone in one room the whole time to encouraging people to strike out in small groups for adventures and exploration in the nearby community. This isn’t being organized centrally, but this page and SideWiki are going to be an area for people to organize themselves.

As we mentioned in the SideWiki post, Google will be giving away FlipCams to those who participate the most in organizing and documenting BIL.

So if you’re researching what to do while in Long Beach, share with the group and win a FlipCam!

Some places to start:

Thanks for this post Bill! As the Community Manager for Sidewiki I’m really excited to come to BIL for the first time AND give away 25 Flip cams. The goal of the initiative is to get people talking and collaborating about speakers and topics BEFORE the conference starts on the 12th.

So far we have just a few entries – I encourage everyone to jump in and add!

You can check out more about the contest on the previous post or on our site http://sites.google.com/site/sidewikibil2010challenge/

Thanks!

Hi Natalie,

I’m offering to lead a vigorous walking tour of nearby Signal Hill. I’m new to this, however. Could you suggest how I should go about this, and when would be a good time for about an hour walk on the hill?

Hey Richard,

Sorry, there might be a misunderstanding. I’m from SF, so I can’t help you out with your walk.

Good Luck!
